The home-made version

I value our children’s ability to make the things they want, the ability to create the world around them and to explore with minimal needs… they are resourceful.

I realize that I need to keep this in check… it is nice to be able to buy what you need or not spend time building when the work is monotonous and not a learning experience.

All this to say, Imogen was able to buy something from the second hand store yesterday and Margo didn’t miss a beat… she wasn’t jealous and she didn’t feel like she was being slighted. Imogen has the new shiny (plastic) product and Margo plays along with her own version (a card board box).

Both girls are extremely resourceful and creative, I hope we can foster these abilities.

Imogen’s “new” camper on the left, Margo’s version on the right.
