Here is a quick recap of things we’ve noticed in the last 6 weeks.
- Imogen started to skip a little about 6 weeks ago.
- Imogen is able to Button, zip, and snap the snaps of her cloths
- Imogen is tall enough to reach the hooks to hang up her coat at school, she is starting to move around with more purpose.
- Imogen is the youngest ever at Lakeside Montessori (31 year history?) to learn all of the letter sounds.
- Imogen saw a book called Pug at the library and read the cover. She is able to read small words.
- Imogen changes her clothing between 4 and 12 times every day.
- Imogen got a bike for Christmas and started riding in the basement this winter. Now that it is spring we have moved the training wheels up a little and she is riding confidently although she is still not quick to use her brakes.
- Imogen has shifted from playing “story time” from the library to “mystery reader” from school. She particularly likes to be announced as the mystery reader and the announcement process has filtered its way into many things… announcing new clothing changes, announcing the mystery dancer… we have to close our eyes and wait for her reveal.
- Margo has learned to sit up.
- Margo getting better at “Tummy time” but is still pretty bad at it.
- Margo hasn’t rolled fully but seems to be on the cusp. Sitting seems to have taken away some of her motivation.
- Yesterday (5/1/2019) Margo was given Cheerios and was able to pinch them immediately.
- Margo started food at 6 months. She has had avocado, sweet potatoes, green beans (although we may have had some issues?), and carrots in addition to the newly introduced Cheerios.
- Margo stands with support, very active in her exersaucer.
- If we leave the room Margo keeps looking for us. She especially misses Lisa.
- Margo laughs at Imogen’s dancing and funny antics. Margo said “KaBoo”, and often laughs when we repeat it.
- Margo is wearing 9 month clothing mostly.
- Margo continues to add new sounds.
- Margo has a tight grip on hair, clothing, and anything she wants to grab.
- Margo seems to be extremely curious about the world around her, we feel like we are constantly moving her around to keep her engaged… crawling might be a relief.
